The Marion County Sheriff’s Department’s Patrol Division consists of one Patrol Sergeant, who also assists the department with administrative duties, 11 other full time deputies; 1 certified K9; 3 part time deputies; 1 school resource officer; and 1 deputy whom specializes in civil processing, court bailiff, and transporting duties. The patrol division is also supplemented with several reserve deputies and a dive team.

The patrol division not only covers the entire county but also consists of a “metro division”, which primarily covers the city of Yellville. The patrol division covers the county 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.

The responsibilities of the Patrol division include traffic and criminal law enforcement; county ordinance enforcement; answering calls for service; welfare checks; property checks; transporting prisoners; serving civil papers for courts and attorneys. The department has the capability to patrol the waterways in the county and does so when the need arises. The department is equipped with a water craft which is also used for water rescue operations.
