Sonoma County law enforcement’s anti-drunk driving campaign has recorded 79 arrests for driving under the influence in its first nine days, officials said Sunday.
In the latest initiative, 15 officers from seven departments fanned out throughout the county from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday armed with 90 warrants for people who failed to appear in court or violated the terms of their DUI-related probation, Petaluma Police Sgt. Ken Savano said.
The sweep resulted in 12 arrests on outstanding warrants, and a 13th arrest occurred when officers in Rohnert Park were advised by a motorist of a possible DUI driver with a small child in the vehicle, Savano said.
