California: Jessica Maria Sambrano DUI; charged with boozing and cruising while yacking on cell

On Monday, November 17th, 2014 about 1:00 AM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision at Fred Waring Dr. and Deep Canyon Rd. in Palm Desert.

The investigation determined the driver, Jessica Maria Sambrano, age 30 of Coachella was driving eastbound Fred Waring Dr., approaching the intersection of Deep Canyon Rd. While driving she looked at her cell phone and struck the center median. The vehicle came to rest on Deep Canyon Rd., north of Fred Waring Dr. The driver was not injured during the traffic collision, and it was determined intoxication may have been a factor in this collision. Sambrano was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio for driving under the influence.
