California: Lori Allen charged with DUI by Palm Desert Police after she slammed into parked car on Tumbleweed Lane

Lori Allen charged with DUI on Sept 29 2014 Palm Desert Police Calif.

 

PALM DESERT, CALIF. — According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Corporal Julio Oseguera, on Monday, September 29, 2014, at 9:54 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to the intersection of Tumbleweed Lane and Verba Santa Drive, reference a traffic collision.

A silver 2013 Mazda sedan was traveling eastbound on Tumbleweed Lane on the opposite lane against the flow of traffic.  The driver collided with an unoccupied vehicle, which was parked on the westbound shoulder of Tumbleweed Lane.

The driver, Lori Allen, age 55 of Rancho Mirage, was detained by citizens who heard the loud crash prior to the arrival of police.  Allen was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to a local hospital as a precaution prior to being booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.
