California: Menifee Police snared ‘Speedy’ Erick Gonzalez after chase and charged him with DUI

According to Riverside Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. John Burke, on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at about 00:46 A.M., a Menifee Police officer observed a 1995 Honda Civic swerving while traveling eastbound on Scott Road. The officer attempted an enforcement stop of the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to yield. The driving actions of the vehicle indicated the driver was under the influence, and a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued until the suspect vehicle exited I-15 at Highway 76 and struck a curb, disabling his vehicle. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Erick Gonzalez, of Perris, fled on foot and was arrested a short distance later.

Gonzalez was arrested for: felony evading, driving under the influence, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and an outstanding parolee at large warrant.
