The driver accused of hitting and killing a 65-year-old Milpitas resident in a traffic collision on Aug. 3 has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, after his arrest on drunken-driving charges.
Milpitas Police Department officials Thursday night announced the arrest of Adam Kimball Close, 23, of Milpitas.
Officers conducted a drunken-driving investigation after the crash and determined the driver had been driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
The fatal accident occurred just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of Jacklin Road and Hamilton Avenue, south of Nob Hill Foods.
