Christopher Ternes On October 1, 2019, around 3:56 pm, Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the city of Rancho Mirage responded to a reported single-vehicle traffic collision at Highway 111 and Rancho Las Palmas, Rancho Mirage. The investigation later determined a white Mercedes-Benz driven by Shirley Day, 38, of Palm Desert, was traveling eastbound on Highway 111, collided with an occupied white Ford Edge at the location.
Police: Day’s child was in the vehicle and sustained a minor injury as a result of the collision.

Day was found to have been operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. After being medically cleared at a local hospital, Shirley Day was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for driving under the influence of alcohol and child endangerment
