CALIFORNIA: Mom of the Year – Shirley Day crashed while DUI injured her child

MOTHER OF THE YEAR! Shirley Day banged up her Mercedes in booze cruise…and…oh yeah…injured her kid too.

Riverside Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Christopher Ternes On October 1, 2019, around 3:56 pm, Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the city of Rancho Mirage responded to a reported single-vehicle traffic collision at Highway 111 and Rancho Las Palmas, Rancho Mirage.  The investigation later determined a white Mercedes-Benz driven by Shirley Day, 38, of Palm Desert, was traveling eastbound on Highway 111, collided with an occupied white Ford Edge at the location. 

Police: Day’s child was in the vehicle and sustained a minor injury as a result of the collision.

Day’s child was in the vehicle and sustained a minor injury as a result of the collision.  The occupant of Ford had complaints of back pain.  Day was found to have been operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.  After being medically cleared at a local hospital, Shirley Day was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for driving under the influence of alcohol and child endangerment
