California: What are the odds that any driver in Jurupa Valley is sober after midnight? Cops bag both drivers in crash for DUI

JURUPA VALLEY, CALIF.  08/03/2014 — According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. both drivers in an after-midnight wreck were impaired but one beat feet and was captured alive…..on Friday, August 2, 2014 at about 12:38 A.M., officers from the Jurupa Valley Police Department responded to the intersection of Bellegrave Ave. and Marlatt St. in Jurupa Valley, in reference to an injury hit and run traffic collision that just occurred.  Officers arrived within minutes and discovered that one of the drivers in one of the involved vehicles fled the scene.  An area search was conducted for the driver and he was located hiding near the scene of the traffic collision.

Both drivers involved in the traffic collision were transported to local hospitals where they were treated for minor injuries.  The preliminary investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor during this collision. Both drivers were arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

  • Everardo Ruiz, age 31 – felony hit and run, felony DUI, booked into Robert Presley Detention Center
  • Identity unknown female, 30’s – felony DUI with injuries

Eastbound and westbound lanes of Bellegrave Ave. between Troth St. and Dodd St. were closed for approximately six hours while members of the Jurupa Valley Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Team conducted their investigation.
