FALLBROOK —- One person died and three others were injured early Saturday when a suspected drunken driver who was speeding on Interstate 15 rear-ended another vehicle, authorities said.
The wreck happened at about 1:50 a.m. Saturday on northbound I-15 near Lilac Road, said Officer Chris Parent of the California Highway Patrol.
A 49-year-old Winchester woman was driving fast up the freeway when she came upon a 1992 Toyota Camry traveling ahead of her at about 70 mph, Parent said. She crashed into the back of the other car —- apparently without slowing or trying to avoid it —- sending both cars through a guard rail and down an embankment. …..MORE
