CALIFORNIA: Police say the driver of Jeep was seen drinking in a parking lot before leaving and driving wrong way before hitting a vehicle and killing himself

Fatal Head-On Collision on Corporate Center Parkway.

According to the Santa Rose Police, on 11/12/2021, at about 8:43 PM, Santa Rosa Police received information that a head-on collision had just occurred on Corporate Center Parkway at Challenger Way.

Upon arrival, police say that officers located two vehicles, a red Jeep, and a white Ford SUV, that had been involved in a collision. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the white Ford had serious injuries and she was transported to a local hospital. The drivers were the only occupants of both vehicles.

The initial investigation revealed that the driver of the Jeep had driven from a nearby convenience store onto Corporate Center Parkway and was driving south in the northbound lanes of traffic. The driver who had been driving the wrong way struck the Ford SUV head-on, who was traveling north in the northbound lanes.

Witnesses stated that the driver of the Jeep had been consuming alcohol in the parking lot just prior to the collision. Investigators located evidence of alcohol consumption where the driver had been reported to be prior to the accident.

The driver of the Jeep who died in the collision was identified as a 51-year-old male Santa Rosa resident. His identity is being withheld until next-of-kin can be notified. The driver of the Ford SUV, a 37-year-old female Santa Rosa resident, was admitted to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
