California: sudden dodge across lanes by DUI driver caused fatal wreck

OAKLAND — One man died and another person was injured Thursday night when the vehicle of a driver suspected of being under the influence collided with a truck at the connector ramp to Interstates 880 and 80, the California Highway Patrol said.
Killed was Alexander Chappell, 26, of Richmond, who was driving a pickup. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A man who was a passenger in the truck was injured and taken to a hospital. His name was not released.
The man suspected of causing the wreck, Joshua Blackburn, 28, of Sacramento, was arrested and is being investigated for vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, officials said…..MORE
