Adam Elders, on December 6, 2014 at about 4:07 a.m. officers from the Coachella Police Department responded to the 50600 block of Suncrest St. regarding a report of a vehicle colliding into a wall. The investigation revealed that Victor Rodriguez, age 19 of Coachella, was driving his Ford Mustang while under the influence of alcohol and collided with a wall inside the apartment complex. Israel Hernandez charged with DUI after rear-ending stopped car

Police report that on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 6:31 P.M.  the Coachella Police Department responded to a traffic collision that occurred on Harrison Place at Dillon Road in Coachella.  A blue 2004 Nissan Sentra, driven by Israel Hernandez, age 29 of Mecca, rear-ended a gray 2010 Nissan Sentra, which was stopped on Harrison Place, waiting to make a left turn into a business driveway.  Neither driver sustained any injuries as a result of this collision.  Both vehicles sustained only minor damage.

The investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor in this collision.  Israel Hernandez was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.  He was treated at a local hospital as a precaution, prior to being booked at the Riverside County jail in Indio.  The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Coachella Police Department at 760-863-8990 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 760-341-STOP (7867).

Savannah Grimes slid to a stop on her roof; busted for DUI

On Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 11:06 p.m., La Quinta police officers responded to Adams Street, north of Corporate Center Drive, regarding a minor-injury traffic collision.

Officers arrived and learned a silver 2-door Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Adams Street just north of Corporate Center Drive and collided with the center median. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof in the southbound lanes of Adams Street.

The driver and sole occupant of the Honda, Savannah Grimes, 19, of La Quinta, was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. Our investigation has revealed that alcohol was a factor in the collision. The charge of driving while intoxicated will be filed with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.

Hola, Alejandro, it’s Demo Derby Time!

According to Sgt. Mark Hoyt of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, December 5th, 2014, at 9:52 PM, officers from the Indian Wells Police Department responded to a four-car vehicle traffic collision on Hwy 111 west of Eldorado Dr. in Indian Wells.

The investigation determined the driver, Alejandro Parra, 30, of Escondido, had been driving eastbound on Hwy 111 when he collided with Volkswagen  stopped for a red light.  The collision forced the Volkswagen to veer into the left turn lane and collide with an Infinti waiting to make a left turn.    Parra’s vehicle continued eastbound and collided with another Volkswagen stopped at the intersection for the red light.  It was determined intoxication may have been a factor in this collision and Parra was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio for driving under the influence.  No one was injured as a result of this traffic collision.

“Flipper” Profus flunked the basic task of driving with wheels down; busted for DUI

On Friday, December 5th, 2014, about 11:07 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover traffic collision on Hovley Lane East and Oasis Club Dr., Palm Desert.

The investigation determined the driver, Shane Profus, age 24 of Palm Desert, had been traveling southbound on Oasis Club Dr. when he struck the south curb of Hovley Lane East. The impact caused the vehicle to flip and land on its top.  Profus was not injured as a result of the collision.  It was determined intoxication may have been a factor in this collision and Profus was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio for driving under the influence.
