Santa Barbara – ‘AVOID the 12′ and CHP conducted a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint on Friday, August 31st and Saturday September 1st between 8:00 PM and 3:00 AM in the 400 block of Chapala Street in the City of Santa Barbara.
This operation was one of 33 DUI enforcement operations that will be or have been conducted throughout Santa Barbara County during the 17 Day Summer Mobilization Period which runs from Friday August 17th through Monday September 3rd.
Officers from the Lompoc, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and UCSB Police Departments worked along side deputies from the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office and Officers from the California Highway Patrol at the sobriety checkpoint. Here are the results of the checkpoint:

DUI Arrests: 9
Misdemeanor Arrests: 1
Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License: 4
Driving with a suspended driver’s license: 3
Vehicles Impounded for 30 days: 1
Vehicles Impounded for 1 day: 10
Miscellaneous citations: 8
William Borgers (09-06-86) of Santa Barbara was arrested for DUI.
Breanne Rose Flora (10-14-86) of Santa Barbara was arrested for DUI.
