Maryland: boozing BMW driver Douglas Scott Berkshire was DUI and underwater after plunge into Patuxent River

HOLLYWOOD, MD. St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that a Texas man with a pricey hot rod took a cold dip into the Patuxent River on Christmas Day.

There were no known baptismal ceremonies taking place on that holy day.

Deputies responded to the end of Clark’s Landing Road for the report of a vehicle in the river.

The investigation revealed, Douglas Scott Berkshire, 38, of Austin, Texas, drove a 2011 BMW 335I, 300-400 feet off of the roadway into the water. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black Audi TT was driving westbound on Central Avenue when it crossed the centerline and struck a silver Toyota Yaris head-on.

The 60-year-old female driver of the Yaris, Marie Elaine Higgs, was declared dead at the scene by fire department paramedics.

At this time the crash is still under investigation but speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor in this crash. The operator Michael Woloshchuk was issued a citation for DUI refusal, LSA and Gross Negligent Operation before he was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in NH.

Oregon: Portland Police believe booze involved in fatal motorcycle crash on I-84; Peter Todd Davies dead on scene

On Saturday December 6, 2014, at 12:56 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of a motorcycle crash on I-84 eastbound at the I-205 southbound exit.

Officers and medical personnel responded and began treating the rider, 37-year-old Peter Todd Davies of Gresham, and his passenger, 23-year-old Jessica Lauren Dunn. Prior to the arrival of medical personnel, Dunn and a passerby were attempting to render aid to Davies who was suffering from traumatic injuries.

The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged 43-year-old William James English with his fifth DUI offense, driving under suspension, providing false information to police, open container violation, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to stop for a blue light.
