Virginia: Duane Chaldron Brown charged with DUI and killing Antoinette Peters

Two children, a 13 year old boy and a 13 year old girl, were unrestrained in the backseat of the Ford Explorer and were both ejected from the vehicle.

All occupants of the Ford Explorer, including the driver, 19 year old male passenger, and both children, were transported to area hospitals. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene on foot following the crash.

Kentucky: State Police charged William Brown with manslaughter DUI in death of Jamie Dupin

07/06/2014 — Kentucky State Police report that James Dupin was killed when a vehicle driven by William Brown crossed the center line and hit him head-on. Both men reportedly are residents of Irvington, Kentucky.

Maryland: PG Police arrest Jacky Luangraj for DUI hit-and-run death of Janelle Marie Oni in College Park

On July 5, 2014, at about 3:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 7300 block of Baltimore Avenue for the report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. When they arrived, they found Oni in the roadway with critical injuries. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests Luangraj was heading northbound on Baltimore Avenue when he struck Oni as she tried to cross the street. Luangraj did not stay on the scene. A short time later, PGPD patrol officers stopped a minivan matching the suspect’s vehicle at Baltimore Avenue and I-495. Officers arrested the driver, Luangraj. He’s now facing 13 charges including negligent auto homicide – under influence, driving under the influence and reckless endangerment. At the time of his arrest, his BAC was twice the legal limit. He was not hurt in the crash.

Pennsylvania: Dante Rau drove over and smashed motorcycle and rider Robert Gatchel; now faces homicide DUI charges

Investigation by Montgomery County Detective Bureau and Douglass Township Police revealed that Gatchel had been operating his motorcycle northbound on Route 100 when he was struck from behind by Rau’s vehicle, which caused the victim to go to the ground. The defendant then drove over the victim and his motorcycle and became wedged under the car. The victim was dragged for approximately 749 feet before the defendant’s car came to a rest. The car, motorcycle, and Gatchel caught fire. The defendant was able to exit his vehicle uninjured. Gatchel was killed as a result of his injuries and the subsequent fire.

Illinois: bail for Erick A. Lopez reduced by Judge Donald Panarese Jr.; held for DUI death of highway worker Jose Tafoya

Bail has been reduced for a 19-year-old man who was allegedly drunk when he crashed in a construction zone a week and a half ago, killing a worker and injuring several others.

Erick A. Lopez, of the 3700 block of 83rd Place, was charged with three felony counts of reckless homicide in a construction zone, aggravated DUI resulting in death and aggravated DUI resulting in bodily harm after the fatal crash in the 4900 block of South Western Avenue about 4:15 a.m. on June 21.
