Daniel E. Taylor of Houston, Texas found a smaller state to up his lifetime DUI record to five!

Greenwood- The Delaware State Police report that they have arrested a Houston man after he was involved in a single-vehicle crash and found to be under the influence of alcohol for the 5thtime.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:53 p.m. Sunday,  October 22, 2017, as troopers were dispatched to the 9000 block of Memory Road, Greenwood in reference to a single vehicle crash into a tree.

Upon the trooper’s arrival, contact was made with the operator, Daniel E. Taylor, 48 of Houston, and a DUI investigation ensued after an odor of alcohol was detected. A computer check revealed he had four previous DUI convictions (12/05/12, 10/05/00, 10/09/96, and 08/16/91); this arrest would make #5.

Daniel Taylor was transported back to Troop 5 in Bridgeville where he was charged with 5th Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Inattentive Driving, Drive/Move or Knowingly Permit an Unsafe Motor Vehicle, Operating a  Motor Vehicle in Violation of Restrictions, and Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession.

He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $6103.00 cash only bond.
