LARGO — A deputy arrested for impaired driving was suspended for 56 hours earlier this year, according to just-released Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office records.

Deputy Kevin Phillips was involved in a six-vehicle crash in while driving on Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County on March 11, 2012. Witnesses told Florida Highway Patrol troopers Phillips appeared intoxicated as he displayed a badge after the crash.

“After identifying himself as a deputy, Phillips made no attempt to render aid,” records stated. Phillips also requested to be hospitalized, claiming
