Florida: DUI driver Mark Schneider was laughing it up at fatal crash scene, say cops; killed Carol Velasco

 

2014-04-02 — A suspected DUI driver in a fatal Boca Raton wreck is behind bars on $100,000 bond.
Mark Schneider, 22, of Boca Raton was arrested for DUI manslaughter and vehicular  homicide for the September 2013 crash. Carol Velasco, 52, of Hialeah, later died in a hospital.
Investigators said Schneider was driving anywhere from 91 to over 100 mph when he slammed into two cars at the intersection of Palmetto Park and Toledo Road. A blood test showed Schneider had a blood-alcohol content of .179, as well as marijuana and prescription pills in his system, according to the arrest affidavit.

BOCA RATON, FL () — West Boca Raton resident Mark Douglas Schneider — of 23240 Savona Court — is in the Palm Beach County Jail tonight charged with homicide.
The official charges according to the Palm Beach County Jail: “Homicide — negligent manslaughter – Vehicle DUI cause death to human or unborn child” and “Homicide — negligent manslaughter — vehicle — killing of person or viable fetus with vehicle.”
The 22-year-old, according to police, caused a fatal accident last September on Palmetto Park Road that killed 52-year-old Carol Velasco.
