01/13/2015 – An Orlando man was killed Sunday night when a woman driving a BMW hit the back of his Toyota, causing him to slam into a concrete wall on Winter Garden Vineland Road near Lake Buena Vista, state troopers said.

Authorities said the woman, later identified as 30-year-old Gina Estrada, of New York, didn’t stick around after the alcohol-related crash.

But she was later caught and booked into Orange County Jail.

Her charges include leaving the scene of a crash with injury or death, and DUI manslaughter. She is being held on a $15,150 bond, a jail official said Monday afternoon….MORE

ORLANDO — A grieving family lashes out as the woman accused their loved one in a hit-and-run crash bonds out of the Orange County Jail.

“To be killed on his way to work, there is no justification for that,” said Jessica Peguero, the victim’s sister.

Peguero wants to know why 30-year-old Gina Marie Estrada took off after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said she hit and killed 30-year-old Jonathan Diaz late Sunday night while driving drunk.

According to the arrest affidavit, Estrada was traveling north on Winter Garden Vineland Road near Vista Oaks Court when she veered into another lane, hitting Diaz’s car. The vehicle then slammed into a concrete wall, killing him.

Estrada and her two passengers were not hurt, but troopers said she left the scene, leaving her car behind.

She was later arrested for DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash with injury or death.

Diaz’s sister said he worked at Walt Disney World after recently moving to Central Florida from New York.  He had a passion for video games and cars.
