RIVERVIEW, Fla. (10/10/2016) – All southbound lanes of Interstate 75 are now open at Big Bend Road. The lanes were closed due to a traffic crash earlier Sunday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, troopers pulled over three vehicles for racing on the highway around 4 a.m. While tow trucks on the scene were loading the vehicles up, a Honda pickup going south on I-75  failed to move over for the responding vehicles.
The truck departed the lane and hit the tow truck driver and then the tow truck itself. The tow truck driver died at the scene.
The Honda driver Gregory Miller, 44, of Lakewood Ranch, was arrested by FHP for DUI manslaughter and DUI property damage.
Troopers had to close the roadway for the investigation. All traffic was diverted onto Big Bend Road. The lanes reopened around 9 a.m. ….MORE
