A Coweta man is now charged with felony vehicular homicide while driving under the influence in connection with a fatal car crash last weekend.

Christopher Lin Holcomb, 28, is charged with vehicular homicide, DUI drugs, reckless driving, too fast for conditions, and failure to maintain lane. He is currently being held without bond at the Coweta County Jail.

According to an arrest warrant, Holcomb admitted to smoking methamphetamine two days prior to the crash and smoking marijuana approximately six hours prior to the crash. The warrant also states Holcomb appeared to show several signs of drug impairment at the scene of the crash.   MORE

Thompson, Larry “Charlie”

Larry “Charlie” Thompson, Jr, age 26 of Newnan died on April 15, 2017. He was born in Atlanta on July 1, 1990, to Larry Thompson, Sr and Cheryl Turner Thompson. Charlie is preceded in death by his father and also his brother, Larry Kevin Thompson. He loved to listen to music, keeping up with social media and hanging out with friends.

Larry is survived by his son, Riley James Thompson McDill; mother, Cheryl Thompson; brothers, Larry Dewayne Thompson and Scott Thompson of LaGrange; sisters, Sharon Johnston (David) of Newnan, Tammy Nichols of Griffin and Christy Massengale of Birmingham, Alabama; along with several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017, t the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church in Whitesburg.
