Dunwoody police believe a woman was drunk with her child in the car when she caused a crash that left two people hospitalized.
The crash happened Thursday night on Interstate 285 near Ashford Dunwoody Road in the westbound lanes. Karen Smith Morton now faces charges of drunken driving and endangering a child while driving under the influence.
Police said Morton left her lane and hit another car, which then crashed into the barrier wall. Police said the driver of the second car suffered a broken ankle and his passenger suffered chest pains. Both were transported to the hospital.
Officers said Morton was driving with her 6-year-old daughter, but the girl wasn’t hurt. Dunwoody police Officer Tim Fecht said Morton didn’t deny drinking…..MORE
