Hawaii: newspaper’s regular feature lists the convictions and sentencing of DUI drivers; only one went to jail!

Editor’s note: This log of driving under the influence convictions is a regular feature of West Hawaii Today and is compiled using Hawaii District Court and Hawaii County Police Department records.
c Eric Beleo Angeleo, 44, of Kealakekua, pleaded guilty Oct. 31 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant, resisting arrest, refusing to submit to a breath, blood or urine test and consuming or possessing an intoxicating liquor while operating a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to pay $462 in fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. He must also serve unspecified amounts of probation and jail time and his license was revoked.
c Erin Kolokea Ackerman, 39, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded no contest Oct. 31 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant and failure to have no-fault motor vehicle insurance. She was sentenced to pay $474 in fees, referred to a driver’s education course and ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment. She must also serve an unspecified amount of jail time and her license was revoked.
c Obispo Gomez Cabrera, 39, of Waikoloa, pleaded guilty Nov. 2 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant, driving with an improper license and failure to have no-fault motor vehicle insurance. He was sentenced to pay $871 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. ….MORE
