A Joliet man was charged with vehicular homicide after he drunkenly collided with a police cruiser Friday night — killing a passenger in his car while wounding himself, another occupant in the vehicle and two police officers.
Alex Reyes, 24, has been charged with reckless homicide, aggravated DUI resulting in death, aggravated DUI resulting in body harm and driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. He was also charged with driving on a suspended license, failing to keep in the lanes, driving in an uninsured motor vehicle, and two counts of damage to public property.
Reyes was driving a car carrying three people when he crashed into the squad car about 11:30 p.m. near Harrison Street and Laramie Avenue in the Austin, authorities said.
