ROCKFORD — The woman behind the wheel of a vehicle that left the roadway and slammed into a tree over the weekend claiming the lives of two of her passengers was charged with multiple counts of aggravated DUI and reckless homicide.
Antavia S. McGee, 21, of Rockford was charged Thursday with six counts of aggravated DUI causing death, a Class 2 felony; six counts of reckless homicide, a Class 3 felony; and four counts of aggravated DUI, a Class 4 felony.
The accident occurred at 1:43 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of South Winnebago Street.
Investigators determined the vehicle was traveling south on Winnebago Street when it left the roadway and struck a tree.
