
Jeffrey Kallister; sentenced to eight years in prison for killing couple on motorcycle stopped at red light

PEORIA, Ill. —The estate of a Peoria couple killed last summer when a drunken driver crashed into their motorcycle has sued two area taverns, saying they were liable for the driver’s actions because they supplied him with alcohol.
The suit, filed Monday in Peoria County Circuit Court, names Hilary A. Korenchuk and Randall L. May, as administrators of the estate of Michael and Rachel Korenchuk, who died Aug. 7, 2011, when a truck, driven by Jeffrey Kallister, crashed into their motorcycle as they were stopped at a stoplight at Glen Avenue and Sheridan Road. The couple had earlier in the day ridden in the first “Can You See Me Now?” motorcycle ride in Pekin.
Named as defendants are Whitey’s Tip Top, 2601 N. Sheridan Road, and Greg L. Quest, which does business as the Elbo Room,….MORE
