2014-04-02 — A Lincolnwood man was drunk and had been racing another driver on the Edens Expressway at speeds above 100 mph before he rear-ended a car driven by a Minnesota man, killing him, prosecutors said.
Jose L. Colon, 21, charged with murder, aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident in the death of Samee Mohammed Ranginwala, 26, was ordered held in lieu of $125,000 bail in a hearing before Cook County Skokie Branch Court Judge Paul Pavlus this morning, said Cook County state’s attorney’s spokesman Tandra Simonton.
Colon was driving a 2001 more than 100 mph south on Interstate 94 north of Touhy about 1:45 a.m. Sunday when he rear-ended the 2003 Geo Tracker driven by Ranginwala, prosecutors said today.
