Illinois: Ryan J. Cooper will likely be out of prison in just 3 1/2 years for killing his pal in DUI wreck; Zachary R. Bussman will still be dead

EUREKA (Nov. 13, 2012) —A Peoria man has been sentenced to 50 months in prison in connection with a single-vehicle crash in March that killed another Peorian.
Ryan J. Cooper, 20, pleaded guilty last week in Woodford County Circuit Court to aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol causing death. According to a news release from Woodford County State’s Attorney Greg Minger, Cooper must serve 85 percent, or about 3½ years, of his sentence.
Zachary R. Bussman, 18, one of five passengers in Cooper’s vehicle, was killed in the crash that took place about 3:30 a.m. March 25 near Benson. …MORE
