(Dec. 6, 2012) — EDWARDSVILLE – A New Douglas man faces two felony charges for allegedly being under the influence of alcohol when he was involved in a traffic collision that killed a Granite City woman.
Travis S. King, 24, was charged Tuesday in Madison County Circuit Court with one count each of aggravated driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent or more resulting in death and aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in death.
The charges stem from a crash on the morning of Oct. 20 on Interstate 270 near its interchange with Interstates 55/70 near Troy. Police said King’s 2004 Ford Mustang rear-ended a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Vera Davis, 27, of Granite City, causing the truck to overturn.
