A man is accused of fleeing from Fort Wayne police while his girlfriend and her two toddlers were in the car.
According to court papers, Clinton M. Garrett battered his girlfriend Tuesday morning in front of her two children, ages 2 and 3, after she demanded her car keys when they were at an “all-night drinking party.”
The beating left her with bruises around her eyes and scrapes on her arms, court papers said.
Garrett started driving a 1997 Oldsmobile with the woman and her kids inside, and he would not stop to let them out. The officer tried to pull Garrett over for a traffic violation, but he kept going, court papers said. He turned off Broadway to go east on West Wildwood Avenue, went south on Beaver Avenue and was later stopped, court papers stated. …MORE
