LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Lexington police are investigating a deadly crash that damaged a Lexington Fire Station.

The crash happened Tuesday night, just before midnight, on East Maxwell Street at Woodland Avenue.

Lexington police said it appears the driver of a truck ran a red light and hit a car that was stopped at the light.

The crash pushed the car into Lexington Fire Station #5, causing some minor damage to the building.

Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said the driver of the truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. He said it appears alcohol was a factor.

Two people in the car were not injured.

The intersection reopened around 4 a.m.
