Eric Duffy scored a dead driver on his second DUI offense; killed Carolyn Morris

MURRY, KENTUCKY – According to Calloway County Jail records, Eric Joseph Duffy, 26, of Murray, Kent., was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, his second such offense after a fatal crash. Duffy was arrested by Calloway County Sheriff’s Deputy Palmer and booked into the jail on April 30, 2016, at 3:21 pm.

The West Kentucky Star reported that according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, the wreck happened around 7:30 am between Hwy 121 and Hwy 80 on Airport Road. Deputies said Eric J. Duffy was driving north on Airport Road when he fell asleep, ran off the road and struck a driveway culvert.

Police said his vehicle then rotated into the southbound lane of traffic and collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Carolyn A. Morris. Morris was pronounced dead at the scene.
