Louisiana: after giving thanks, they went out for a party — ride with a drunk driver and buy a ticket to your own funeral!

A 19-year-old faces DWI and vehicular homicide charges after a Friday morning accident that killed the grandson of a Webster Parish deputy.
Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd says the wreck happened just after midnight on Spring Branch Road near N. Giles Road. Lynd says right now it appears the driver, 19-year-old Salil Tharyani, was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car and ran off the road.
Lynd says none of the three people in the car were wearing their seat belts. Tharyani and a second passenger were not injured in the accident. A family member says the third passenger was 18-year-old Cody Hatfield. He was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries and later died. ….MORE
