According to the St. Tammany Parish La. Sheriff’s Office, Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for a driver involved in a single vehicle crash after blood alcohol results indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .08g%. The investigation also indicated the driver was traveling over 100 m.p.h. prior to the crash.
Arrestee: Raymond Adams – 3215 William Tell St., Slidell (W/M – DOB: 02/03/51)
Following the crash on March 2nd, the driver, Raymond Adams, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Deputies from the Traffic Division had Adams’ blood drawn and sent it to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
While waiting for the results of the blood test and for Adams’ recovery, deputies were able to piece together the events of the crash. Evidence at the scene indicated to deputies that Adams was traveling over 100 m.p.h. before he left the roadway.
After leaving the roadway, the vehicle struck a culvert and became airborne. While airborne, the vehicle collided with a tree and rolled back onto the roadway. Adams’ passenger, 24 year old William Gaffney of Lacombe, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies obtained three arrest warrants for Adams in connection to the fatal crash. He was located at his residence last night and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the parish jail with the following charges:
