Webster Parish (July 7, 2011)  – Louisiana State Police reports that on July 5, 2011, at 3:10 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single-vehicle crash on US 80, just west of Dixie Inn, in Webster Parish. The crash critically injured two women from Minden.
According to investigating troopers, 39-year-old Kristi A. Young and her passenger, 31-year-old Kristi R. Cole, were both traveling west on US 80 in a 2009 Toyota Camry when the vehicle entered a curve to the left. The vehicle, for unknown reasons, continued straight in the curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway and collided with a concrete culvert. The vehicle became airborne, flipped end over end, and then came to rest on its roof. As a result of the crash, both Young and Cole had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Young and Cole were both wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash and were airlifted to LSU Health Science Center (LSUHSC) in Shreveport, LA with critical injuries.
Speed and alcohol use are suspected factors in the crash. Toxicology test results are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
