Maryland: Conner Nauman’s late night booze cruise into pole & tree splits car in half; 16-year-old girlfriend in critical condition

LEONARDTOWN, MD. According to St. Mary’s Sheriff’s spokeswoman Dep. Cindy Allen, on June 2, 2013 at approximate 4:15 a.m. deputies responded to a motor vehicle collision on Society Hill Road near Breton View Drive in Leonardtown, Maryland.
The preliminary investigation reveals a 2003 Honda Accord operated by Conner Riley Nauman, 19 of Clements, Maryland was traveling southbound on Society Hill Road near Breton View Drive, Leonardtown, Maryland.
A 16 year old, female from Mechanicsville, Maryland was a front-seat passenger in the vehicle.
Police say Nauman lost control of the vehicle causing the vehicle to swerve off the roadway.  The vehicle struck a telephone pole then collided with a tree.  After striking the tree, the Honda split in half.  Nauman and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle. Both were flown to Prince George’s Shock Trauma with incapacitating injuries.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and the investigation is continuing.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors.
