Easton Barrack of Maryland State Police reports arrest for Distribution of Cocaine and Crack Cocaine

THE ROCKET SCIENTIST – Kenny L. Guyton, 35 of Brooklyn, Maryland. DUI and cocaine on Nov 19, 2017, Easton Md by Maryland TFC Lockhart.

EASTON, MD. — When tooling along on Rt. 50 in his Lexus, Kenny Guyton drew the attention of a Maryland State Trooper due to the sloppy way he was driving.

Maryland State Police report that on Nov. 19, 2017, at 2:35 A.M., Troopers of the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack were conducting a criminal enforcement initiative for drunk drivers and controlled dangerous substance violations in Easton, Talbot County, Maryland.

Trooper First Class Lockhart observed an operator of the Lexus displaying signs of impairment as it traveled eastbound on Rt. 50 at Almshouse Road.  Troopers conducted a traffic stop upon the vehicle and identified the driver as Kenny Lamarr Guyton, 35, of 605 E. Jeffrey Street, Brooklyn, Maryland.

During the course of the traffic stop, Troopers identified signs of impairment by alcohol and criminal indicators for drug trafficking. Guyton was found to be in possession of several baggies of cocaine and crack cocaine which was packaged for resale to include a digital scale.

Guyton was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of cocaine and crack cocaine and numerous traffic violations. Guyton was found to be in possession of a large amount of U.S. currency which was seized by the Talbot County Drug Task Force.

Guyton was taken before a Talbot County court commissioner and held on bond pending a court date. The Maryland State Police Easton Barrack is asking anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call 410-819-4747 or the Talbot County Drug Task Force at 410-820-8940.

Charged by way of Criminal Information filed by Anne Arundel County States Attorney Wes Adams for illegal possession of a firearm and ammo on his person on Nov. 10, 2016, Guyton struck up a plea deal with the prosecutor on May 22, 2017. THE DEAL: In return for a guilty plea, Guyton was sentenced to 1095 days in jail with all but 10 days suspended. With this new arrest, while Guyton is on probation, it may be that this arrest will have consequences.

Guyton entered a guilty plea to dealing drugs in Talbot County Circuit Court on Aug. 26, 2014, as part of a plea deal with Talbot County States Attorney Scott Patterson. THE DEAL:  The rough and tough prosecutor taught this drug dealer a lesson by coming up with a five-year sentence in prison with all of the prison time suspended. With three years of supervised probation, it is odd that court records don’t reveal of any jail time being imposed for violating his probation on May 13, 2016. The hapless taxpayers of Maryland were called upon to provide a free attorney for Guyton in the form of Yves Francis Archey, of Chestertown.

Guyton entered a guilty plea to DUI in Worcester County District Court on a prior impaired driving arrest by Worcester County Sheriff’s Deputy A. Rhode on Aug. 29, 2010, as he operated a 1992 Lexus on Ft. 610 at Rt. 50. THE DEAL: In the deal on March 19, 2012, he was given 40 days in jail and a fine of $400.50. He was given credit for time served of 40 days as he awaited trial.  Guyton was provided a free attorney from the public defender’s office.

Guyton was sentenced to 219 days in jail on March 24, 2006, for once again having a firearm in spite of being a prohibited person due to a felony conviction.

Guyton pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a vehicle on Sept. 28, 2001, and was sentenced to 18 months in jail with all of the jail time suspended.
