MARYLAND: Thomas Alan Raley sentenced to five years in prison for DUI, all but nine months suspended

Thomas Alan Raley, of Park Hall, Md., had the book thrown at him in a rare case of judicial fairness to the general public at removing a dangerous driver from the highways. Raley was found guilty in St. Mary’s County District Court by Judge James Tanavage and sentenced to five years in the slammer. Judge Tanavage then suspended the sentence to nine months of incarceration in the St. Mary’s County Jail and three years of probation.
