SALISBURY, MD. – 05/13/2015 —-Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis reports that on May 9, 2015 at 2:26 AM a deputy stopped a vehicle operated by Kevin Murray after observing Murray driving erratically on South Salisbury Boulevard.

At one point the deputy observed that Murray was driving down the middle of the road, straddling both southbound lanes.

Upon stopping Murray, the deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Murray. That along with other observations prompted the deputy to attempt to administer sobriety testing which Murray refused to do. Murray stated that had not consumed any alcohol.

The deputy also discovered that Murray was required to have an ignition interlock in any vehicle he operated due to a previous alcohol related driving offense. The vehicle Murray operated was not equipped with such a device.

The deputy placed Murray under arrest and transported him to the central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Murray in the Detention Center in lieu of $5,000.00 bond.
