BOSTON
– A Boston police officer has been indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury in connection with an alleged drunken driving accident that left a Foxboro woman severely injured.
Richard Jeanetti, 36, who was off-duty at the time, is charged with drunken driving and causing an accident with serious bodily injury in connection with the crash May 24 in Hyde Park that injured Brianna O’Neill, 22, of Foxboro.
Evidence indicates that at the time of the collision, Jeanetti was travelling on West Street at speeds of up to 68 mph in a 30-mph zone and went through a stop sign at the Austin Street intersection, where he collided with O’Neill’s vehicle, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Jeanetti’s vehicle caused massive damage to the victim’s 1995 Honda Accord.
The impact broke one of her legs and fractured one of her vertebrae.
After colliding with her car, Jeanetti’s vehicle struck a second car driven by a 20-year-old Hyde Park woman. She and her passenger were uninjured. ….MORE
