Hung Mahn Ho charged with OUI Mansfield Police Mass

Mansfield Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Accident

On Sunday, May 11 at approximately 9:32PM, Mansfield Police and Fire responded to the intersection of Hope St. and Pratt St. for a reported motor vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. Witnesses called the station on 911 and reported a white box truck struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. Mansfield Fire, a short time later, reported seeing a white truck traveling the wrong way down North Main St. and officers responded to the area.

Officer Robert Pierce initiated a motor vehicle stop of the truck, a 2004 Ford F350 dump truck travelling the wrong way on Thomas St. at N. Main, a one way street. Damage was observed on the hood and driver side light assembly. The victim was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital and died as a result of injuries sustained. The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Hung Manh Ho, 57, of Framingham, MA, was placed under arrest and charged with leaving the scene of an accident after causing a death and Motor Vehicle Homicide OUI Liquor. Bail was set at $5000 cash. Ho will be arraigned in Attleboro District Court on Monday, May 12.

Victim of Fatal Accident Identified

The victim of a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Pratt St. and Hope St. on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 9:32 PM has been identified as James Walker, 44, of Mansfield.

The investigation is ongoing by Mansfield Police Detectives with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (C.A.R.S.) and State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
