A 22-year-old city man faces drunk driving and other charges following an early Thursday morning rollover on Route 141.
Zachary A. Kraft, of 78 West St., was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield following the crash which was reported shortly after 1:45 a.m. A Baystate spokesman said Kraft has been admitted and is listed in good condition.
Police closed the roadway for nearly nine hours while they investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
Nicol said Officer Timothy Rogers had been running radar near the base of the mountain when he heard the crash.
Rogers found Kraft, who had been driving up the mountain, still belted into his upside-down vehicle. The vehicle, not far from the base of the mountain, was on its roof and sideways in the middle of the southbound lane. Nicol said it appears that Kraft had been driving at a high rate….MORE
