Southfield Artist Charged in Fatal Car Crash
DETROIT, MICH. — On Feb. 25, 2016, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged artist Marcus Omar Glenn, 48, of Southfield, with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Death.
On February 4, 2016, at 11:17 p.m., it is alleged that Glenn had been drinking when he was driving his wife and Hatta Olivia Funches, 44, when he crashed into a guardrail at West Jefferson and Griswold in Detroit.
Ms. Funches was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash. Glenn was arraigned at 10:30 this morning before 36th District Court Magistrate Blake-Wood.
The probable cause conference is scheduled for March 3, 2016, at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for March 10, 2016 at 9:00 am – both hearings are before Judge Langston. The defendant received a $75,000/10% bond.
