Missouri: Southern Dallas County Fire Chief busted for 3rd DUI…no hero, just a bum

David Rowland, 34, Buffalo, chief of the Southern Dallas County Fire District, was charged this week by Dallas County Prosecuting Attorney Barbara J. Viets  with the Class D felony of driving while intoxicated, persistent offender, for an incident that allegedly occurred on March 10.
The Reflex has learned that Rowland has now been relieved of his duties as fire chief.
In his probable cause statement, Officer Justin Weathers of the Buffalo Police Department said that on March 10 at 3:01 p.m. he was dispatched to O’Reilly Automotive at 1020 S. Ash St. on a report of a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, Weathers talked with Rowland, the driver, who was noticed to have watery, glassy eyes and was leaning against his vehicle, according to the report. Rowland reportedly said he was not paying attention as he backed his 1995 blue Dodge Caravan into a pickup truck located on the premises.
As Rowland spoke, he was noticed to have a moderate odor of intoxicants emitting from him, according to the report. When asked about intoxicants, Rowland allegedly said he had consumed a “hot toddy” around 9 a.m.    …..MORE
