Thomas McClare 4 DUI offenses nabbed at Bitteroot Mont. Ravalli Co So

BILLINGS, MONTANA — 08/25/2014 —An alleged drunken confrontation along the Bitterroot River led to felony DUI charges for a Victor man.

Thomas A. McClare, 54, appeared this week before Ravalli County Justice of the Peace Jim Bailey on the felony count and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer.

McClare was arrested at the Woodside Fishing Access site on Aug. 18 at about 7 p.m. after a sheriff’s corporal responded to a drunken-driver call.

According to the charging affidavit, a man at the fishing access site told the officer that he and his family were already at the river when McClare and his dog showed up on the scene.

McClare’s dog ran over to the man’s car and jumped inside.

When the man asked McClare to retrieve his dog, McClare allegedly responded with profanity to say his “(expletive) dog does not have to be on a leash and they were not from Montana and needed to get the (expletive) out of there.”
