The Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office is currently putting our entire uniformed division through ARIDE. We are the first agency in the state of Montana to do this. ARIDE stands for Advanced Roadside Driving Enforcment. ARIDE is the next level of impaired driving training that is offered after the basic academy. The basic class teaches students the fundamentals of conducting a DUI investigation. ARIDE ensures students are proficient in administering the tests, plus it introduces students to drugged driving and the seven drug categories. With the legalization of marijuana, the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office is providing our front line deputies with the tools to identify drug impaired drivers. Alcohol impaired drivers already pose a significant risk to our community. Marijuana impaired drivers are just as deadly. Don’t drive impaired!
