Nebraska: Police report alcohol played part in fatal rollover; Manuel Rios-Esparza killed when ejected

UPDATE:

11/29/2014 —  The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that  occurred at approximately 5:30 P.M. on Friday, November 28th, 2014. Thirty-five-year-old Manuel Rios-Esparza of Omaha was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe  southbound on S.W. 56th Street between West Denton Road and West Yankee  Hill Road. Evidence indicates Esparza lost control of the vehicle on a  gravel road as it crested a hill. The vehicle then entered the west ditch,  struck a fence, entered the field and rolled multiple times.

Esparza was  ejected during the rollovers. Deputies, S.W. Fire & Rescue, Lincoln Fire &  Rescue, and Star Care all responded to the scene. Life-saving measures were attempted, but Esparza was declared deceased at the scene. An autopsy has  been scheduled to determine the cause of death. Next of kin has been notified.  A seat belt was not in use and alcohol is believed to be a factor. The  investigation is continuing.

 The driver was ejected during the rollovers.

Deputies, S.W. Fire & Rescue,   Lincoln Fire & Rescue, and Star Care all responded to the scene. Lifesaving measures were attempted but the driver was declared deceased at the   scene.
