On Aug. 26 from 11:30 p.m. through 3:30 a.m., the Elmwood Park Police Department conducted a drunk driving checkpoint on Route 46 West at the Boulevard. The following people were arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and/or being in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS):

Gordon Thames, 42, of Elizabeth, was arrested by Elmwood Park Police Officer Nick Petronzi on a charge of DWI.

Jennifer Gonzalez, 25, of Union, was arrested by Elmwood Park Police Officer Joseph Friedman on a charge of DWI.

Wanda Rivera, 43, of South Hackensack, was arrested by Elmwood Park Police Officer Gerald Chiavelli on a charge of DWI.

Chayanne Nicodemus, 24, of Passaic, was arrested by Elmwood Park Police Officer Andrew Draing on a charge of DWI.

Emily Sawers, 18, of Westfield, was arrested by Elmwood Park Police Officer Hartmann on a charge of DWI. ….MORE
