New Jersey: Mohammad Khan killed woman in David Hewitt’s car in rear-end crash; charged with DWI

A two-car highway accident in West Deptford late Wednesday evening has left an unidentified woman dead and led to the arrest of another driver for DWI, according to New Jersey State Police (NJSP).

The crash occurred at 11:24 p.m. near mile marker 22.6 on I-295 southbound.

Mohammad Khan, 21, of Cherry Hill, was driving a white Toyota Camry that ran into the rear of a white Hyundai Accent driven by 41-year-old David Hewitt of Carney’s Point, police said.

An unidentified, 32-year-old woman who traveling in the Hyundai, was airlifted to Cooper Hospital, where she later died, according to police.

NJSP Sgt. Brian Polite cautioned that the information was “very preliminary.”

Polite said the cause of the accident is as yet unknown and that the case is still under investigation. He could not comment on whether anyone else involved in the crash had been injured.

Khan was charged with driving while intoxicated. …MORE
