New Jersey: Mount Olive Township Police report on DWI arrests; Bonnie Stevenson was snoozing in her car at the drive-in window of Dunkin Donuts

Mount Olive Township, New Jersey Police report that on Nov. 30, 2012 at 3:11 am Officer Casey Grimm was on patrol when he observed a 2001 Mercedes traveling on Route 46 westbound. The vehicle was failing to maintain its lane and had quickly accelerated after waiting for a red traffic signal. Officer Grimm conducted a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle during which time the driver was identified as Ms. Aliya Harris, 40, of Edgewater, N. J.. During the course of the stop Officer Grimm detected that Ms. Harris was impaired due to alcohol consumption. Field sobriety tests were conducted at which time Ms. Harris was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to police headquarters where she submitted to a chemical breath test and was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane. She was released to a sober driver and has a pending court appearance.

 On December 1st at 2:09 AM the Mount Olive Police Department received a report of a possible drunk driver traveling on Route 46. The vehicle was reported to be a green 1992 Dodge sedan. Officer Paul Ottavinia subsequently located the suspect vehicle traveling on Route 46 and observed the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. Officer Ottavinia conducted a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle at which time the driver was identified as Mr. Patrick Antoine, 52, of Budd Lake, N.J. . During the course of the stop, Officer Ottavinia detected that Mr. Antoine was impaired due to alcohol consumption. Field sobriety tests were conducted at which time Mr. Antoine was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters where he submitted to a chemical breath test. After submitting to the chemical breath test Mr. Antoine was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unlicensed driver, and failure to maintain lane of travel. He was released to a sober driver and has a pending court appearance.

 While on patrol on Netcong Road Officer Anthony Gardner observed a vehicle traveling slowly. Officer Gardner followed the vehicle from Netcong Road onto Sandshore Road and onto North Mount Olive Road. On each street he observed that the vehicle was failing to maintain a lane. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on North Mount Olive Road at which time the driver was identified as, Keith Nietz, 61, of Budd Lake, N.J.. Field sobriety test could not be performed. Mr. Nietz was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided breath samples into the Alcotest. Mr. Nietz was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain a Lane. He was released to a sober driver.

 While on routine patrol in the Flanders section of Mount Olive, Officer Russell was dispatched to the Dunkin Donuts for a report of a female driver sleeping in her vehicle in the drive-thru. When Officer Russell arrived he observed a black Lincoln Navigator running but parked in the drive-thru with a female slumped over the driver’s seat. After several attempts the driver awoke and exited the vehicle to perform Field Sobriety Tests. Officer Russell was able to identify the driver as, Bonnie Stevenson, 37, of Budd Lake, N. J. . After performing the Field Sobriety Tests Ms. Stevenson was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she provided breath samples into the Alcotest. Ms. Stevenson was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving and released to a sober driver.
